What happens when a workflow is unpaused, or touchpoint set live

When a touchpoint is changed to draft or a workflow paused or set to finishing, it can sometimes be unclear which communications a student will receive. Below is the two main points:

  • If the touchpoint is made live first and then the workflow is unpaused after, everyone on the workflow will receive the touchpoint (depending on timings).

  • If the workflow is unpaused first, with the touchpoint being made live after, the touchpoint will only send to students who join the workflow after the touchpoint is live (the students currently on the workflow not included).

Simply put, if you would like everyone to receive the touchpoint, make the touchpoint live first and then unpause the workflow after. If you would like the touchpoint to only send to new additions and not those currently on the workflow, make the workflow live first and then make the touchpoint live after doing so.
