AOD, POD and EVM booking forms open in a new page, hosted by Student CRM. A typical booking ends with the student viewing the 'Your Booking' or 'Your Programme' page:

If you set the 'Finish' button on that last page to go to your university web page, it still relies upon the student to click it, rather than just closing it (which they might well do as their booking was successful).

However, in the booking form settings in AOD, POD and EVM, there is now an alternative option to hoping the student clicks the "Finish" button. This is called Auto redirect.

Auto redirect can now go to any URL you specify, after a delay that you specify (e.g. 5 seconds), and if you set the delay to zero the 'Your Booking' page never appears at all.

FAQs:

Q. Why is this helpful?

A. If you are using Google Analytics (GA) tracking to measure the university web page they clicked BEFORE and then the page they clicked AFTER, this is now possible every time, using a 0 second redirect. This is the easiest way to set up GA Funnels.

Q. If I set a 5 second delay, can the student still click the "Finish" button before it has completed?

A. Yes they can because they will have 5 seconds to look at the 'Your Booking' page. One reason you might choose to set a longer delay is to give the student time to see and click the 'Edit' or 'Cancel' buttons on the last page of their booking. However, as the student can easily do both of these by clicking the link in their immediate touchpoint email, there is little lost by using a 0 second redirect every time, effectively preventing the 'Your Booking' page from ever being seen. The choice is yours.
