There are a lot of caveates around previewing a Mobile Event Capture (MEC) form from inside Webform Builder (WFB).

While we always recommend testing your form on a mobile device to ensure it looks and behaves as expected, sometimes you just want to take a quick look while you're still building.

One of the most notable issues is that, due to the way courses and subjects are bundled up to work on the app, the WFB preview can't show you these.

However, if you use the form previewer from within MEC, you can be sure that you're viewing the most accurate version of your form.

How to preview a form from within Mobile Event Capture

Click into the Settings Cog, and then onto the Forms tab.

View the form you want to preview by clicking on the Magnifying Glass

Please note: a form must be attached to an event to be previewed

Click the 'Preview Form' button

You'll then get a pop-up window with the form that you can test as needed.

Please note: the 'Admin notes' field will still be visible - this is because there's no way to 'long press' on the preview to bring it up separately.
