Duplicate students, and consents all contribute

During a grab you may notice that the number of students you're targeting drops between steps. This is normal behavior and happens for a few reasons:

  1. Duplicate Students - The CRM de-dupes upon students. We don't want to send multiple communications to the same person!

  2. Marketing or Transactional - The count can also change depending on whether you've selected "Marketing" or "Transactional" as the "Type of Communication". Students can opt out of "Marketing" emails.

  3. Invalid Email - If the student's email address has bounced or failed in the past we will remove them from your grab. The CRM won't send an email to an invalid email address in order to preserve our (and your) sender reputation.

It's not uncommon to see your grab drop by up to fifty percent of the original targeted students. This is particularly common in apps like Pre App Open Days or Prospectus Requests where one student may make multiple requests. This is nothing to worry about.

If you have any questions regarding your grabs feel free to contact the CRM Support Team and we will do our best to help you.
