When you create a Topic in Privacy Centre, you have the option to make it optional or mandatory.

If a Topic is Mandatory then it must be selected in order for the student to submit the form that this topic is on. The Description appears below the Topic on the form so you can let your students know exactly what the Topic includes. The Validation Message will only appear if someone attempts to submit the form without ticking the box for a Mandatory topic.
