If you need to put something different than the default messages for required fields, this is how

Every form comes with default "this field is required" messages to let submitters know which fields must be completed.

Many of these can be customised on the fields themselves. For example, on the below form, the default "Please select a year of entry" message has been translated into Spanish.

Setting Global Required Messages

However, some Required Messages are not directly controlled by a field, such as the tick boxes on a consent pack. These can be changed on the global form settings accessed via the settings cog.

To set new default Messages, tick the check box to enable the options then rewrite as necessary.

Required - This controls all other required fields, such as the tick boxes on a consent pack.

If you need to revert back to the default messages at a later date, just click "reset".
