How to steer students to the next stage of their journey with you

One of the most important features in Pre-app Open Days (POD), Applicant Open Days (AOD), and Event Manager (EVM) is the Workflows related to whether students did or did not attend your event.

Let's say we have a small Open Day scheduled.

Seven people have filled in our form and said they are coming. The event date comes and goes, but only five out of seven attend. We have events arranged every month, so we'd like to invite the two non-attendees to book onto another Open Day.

We can use Attended and Not Attended Touchpoints to communicate with both groups.

Everyone confirmed as Attended will receive the Touchpoints within the 'Attended' Workflow. This could be an immediate email thanking them for attending, then a follow up 3 days after asking them to fill in a Survey.

Everyone who confirmed as Not Attended will receive the Touchpoints within the 'Not Attended' Workflow. This could be an email asking if they would like to book onto an alternative event.

There's also a third type of Workflow, used in POD and AOD. When there are no other suitable events that the student could attend, they get added to a group called Not Attended (End of Season). They will then receive a special touchpoint letting them know there are no more events available but may invite them to make other arrangements with their establishment.

All three of these workflows are triggered when you've confirmed the attendees at your event. Take a look at these articles for more information:

Once you've confirmed your attendees, the above workflows will be set in motion.

These Workflows work together to make sure your prospective students are gently steered towards the next point in the student journey.
