Once you've chosen your Easy-Builder template type by clicking the Plus icon, you'll be taken to the Template Builder setup.

1. About

On the "About" step, you can set the Templates meta-data, such as name, description and tags.

Here you can also set what the template will be used for:

  • Touchpoint - This lets you build the template with some basic touchpoint merge tags, and makes it available for use anywhere you can use a touchpoint, such as in Applicant Open Days or Rapid Response.

  • Campaign - This lets you create a Template without any merge tags, ready for use in a campaign either via Campaign Manager, Contact Manager or Agent Manager.

  • Setup - The only merge tag available for Setup templates is [xxxreplace_with_contentxxx]. This type of template is used for direct emails, such as replying to an enquiry, emailing a contact from Contact Manager, or, as in the above example, student chaser emails from Active Applications.

The "Show in Gallery" option allows you to share and clone this template.

2. Easy Builder

This allows you to create your template using the drag-and-drop WYSIWYG editor. More specifics on how to use the easy builder system can be found here.

3. Preview

On the Preview step you can get an idea of how your template will look on a device. you can also share the template URL with a colleague, send a preview email to as many addresses as you'd like (comma separated), and also send this template to view in Litmus.

Litmus is a service for testing how your email will look in different email clients. Once you tick "Send to Litmus" and click "send" a member of the CS team will add the Litmus results to the Preview step for you to view.

If you want to use your own Litmus account, go to Litmus > Home and just copy the email address after clicking the 'Test your email' button:

When you click the 'Send preview email' button in Template builder you then paste it into the email, separating it from your email with a comma, and it will then appear in your own Litmus account, and you will get your preview as usual:

4. Sharing

The Sharing step links with your Collections. From here you can quickly add a new template to an existing collection - Just click the Plus icon and then select the correct collection from the dropdown.

Please note: Your Template and Collection must be published in order to show up in the selected app and occurrences.
